 | | BLACK POLYGON: The Black Polygon is awarded for missions involving a reasonable level of risk or engagement with enemy intelligence forces. This award is quite common in the Combat protectorates, the XXI (Reserve) protectorate and the IX (Intelligence) protectorate. |
 | | GOLDEN SPIKE: This medal is only awarded for missions involving combat, and quite often also involving illegal activities in Federal or Independent space. As such, this award is most common in the IX (Intelligence) protectorate. |
 | | PLATINUM CROSS: This medal is awarded for gathering information about the Empire's enemies at great personal risk. It is often gained in the IX (Intelligence) protectorate, but is also commonly given to civillians as a reward for assisting the police in their inquiries. |
 | | LEGION OF HONOUR: This medal is awarded for gaining information about the Empire's enemies which is above average in quality. Gaining this also often involves extreme personal risks. It is also therefore commonly awarded for great bravery in the line of duty. |
 | | CELESTIAL WARRIOR MEDAL: This medal is awarded personally by the Emperor at Duval City's annual Empire Day celebrations. It commemorates acts of great heroism, enormous personal risk and exceedingly useful service to the Empire. Those who are awarded this medal are normally treated with the greatest respect. |
